T&R Nebbiolo 2006 - Sally Gudgeon, Sunday Life, The Sunday Age Magazine, 11th May 2008
Made by Don Lewis and Narelle King from Heathcote fruit, this smells of spice, wild flowers and dark berries, with sweet fruit on the front palate, firm tannins and bright acid.
-
T&R Nebbiolo 2006 - "Lovely", Jane Faulkner, The Age Newspaper, Saturday 19 January, 2008
This is a lovely Aussie nebbiolo that has all the heady aromatics of - surprise, surprise - tar and roses, so often associated with the variety that originally hails from Piedmont, Italy.
-
T&R Tempranillo 2011 - Peter Bourne, Australian Gourmet Traveller, October 2012
Narelle King fled the world of accounting to join veteran Mitchelton winemaker, Don Lewis to create the Tar&Roses brand.
-
T&R Shiraz 2010 - 90/100 - Huon Hooke, SMH, 24 July 2012
Smoky oak and earthy plum aromas lead into a full-bodied, dense palate with grip and length. Cellaring would reward.
-
T&R Shiraz 2010 - Highly Recommended - Lester Jesbug, Winewise Magazine, February 2012
The attractive nose shows hints of rose petal and dried herbs. The dry, savoury palate delivers enough fruit.
-
T&R Shiraz 2010 - 97 Points - Tony Keys, The Key Report, June 2012
Every now and then a wine is tasted and it presses the buttons, sets the wow factor blasting and caps it all by being exceptionally good value; this is one of those. Let’s be vulgar you want a $30 plus bottle of wine but don’t want to pay $30 plus this is the wine, its savory rather than fruit driven; starts its journey striding across the palate making a statement but then turns silky ending with a hint of mystery 97 points and if better value is to be found, let me know.

Straight up – a crackingly good value Heathcote (with Strathbogie Ranges) shiraz exuding pepper and spice aromas and dark plummy fruit. It has floral lift and bright, crunchy berry acidity, all sculpted deftly into a refined style. It’s very impressive.
-
T&R Pinot Grigio-2012 - 92/100 - Dan Murphy’s Fine Wine Buyers Guide, June 2012
Tar&Roses Pinot Grigio is a lovely expression of the variety with aromas of pear, stone fruit and honeysuckle. Crisp and medium bodied, the flavours of quince and spice are framed by clean acidity.
