Design bible rates Logan's new labels as among the best in the world
Logan’s signature embroidered labels, featured on their eponymous and premium range of wines, quickly won the hearts of consumers and retailers. Now the labels have been recognised in design bible D&AD - a nod to Logan’s discerning taste in design and its clever appointment of design agency partner - WAR design.
The D&AD ‘Annual’ is arguably the most celebrated design tome in the world. The book features finalists in the annual D&AD Awards, in which the creative community is judged by a panel of more than 270 of its creative peers, each selected for their eminence in their respective fields. This year, of 20,000 pieces of judged work, only 717 entries were selected for the ‘Annual’, which includes Logan’s signature labels among only 19 entries chosen from the ‘packaging’ category of the awards. Logan was one of 31 Australian entries selected.
This is the second accolade for Logan’s signature labels, which won the inaugural The Whole Story category at the Boutique Wine Packaging Awards in 2008. The labels have also been featured in leading Australian lifestyle and design magazines, including Vogue Australia, Frankie, Australian Country Style, Creative, Voyeur and several national newspapers and newspaper supplements.
WAR design’s labels for the Logan range feature beautiful, dimensional hand-stitched embroidered images - intricate compositions of fruits, berries, leaves and flowers, representing the textures and characters of the wine inside. Each of these designs was painstakingly hand-embroidered and strike a fitting metaphor for the patience, care and love that go into every bottle of Logan wine.
