Amisfield Central Otago Pinot Noir 2007 *****
Distinguished wine, notably dense, rich and supple. Full-coloured, with deliciously ripe, sweet-fruit flavours of cherries, plums and spices and a long, finely textured finish. Classy, generous red, still unfolding.
Amisfield Central Otago Pinot Gris 2008 ****1/2
Youthful, partly barrel-fermented style. Richly scented, with mouthfilling body and ripe flavours of citrus fruits, lychees and spices, showing good complexity. Fresh, crisp and vibrantly fruity, with a long finish.
Both of these wines are due for release soon.
